　　Ⅰ.middle指“中間”，表示時間和空間的“中間”，是相對而言的，也可指籠統的“中部”，如：

　　We have lunch in the middle of the day.

　　另外middle還可表程度的“中等”如：the middle school

　　Ⅱ. centre “中心”，通常用于空間方面，強調指正中心。它還可以用于借喻，表某一事物的中心。如：

　　① Dray a circle round a given centre. 就指定的中心畫一圓圈。

　　② We live in the centre of London. 我們住在倫敦中心。

　　③ Beijing is the political, economic and cultural centre of China. 北京是中國的政治、經濟和文化中心。
