The Dog and His Reflection 狗和他的倒影
Ralph is a dog. He is always hungry. His master is a very lazy man. He only feeds Ralph once a day.
羅夫是一只狗。他總是挨餓。因為他的主人是個懶惰的人。他每天只喂羅夫一次。
Ralph: When will my master wake up? When will he feed me today? Im really hungry right now. I cant wait any longer. Ill get some food by myself.
羅夫：我的主人什么時候才會睡醒?他今天什么時候才能喂我?我現在真的很餓。我再也等不及了，我要自己去找食物。
Ralph goes out of the house. He walks and walks. He looks for food. He cant find any anywhere. Ralph also gets lost.
羅夫走到了屋外。他走啊走啊。他四處尋找食物，可是什么也沒找到。不僅如此，他還迷路了。
Ralph: I cant find any food. And now I am lost. I should have stayed at home. My master might be awake by now. I am so hungry. Boo-hoo-hoo.
羅夫：我找不到任何吃的，現在我還迷路了。我本應該待在家里的。也許現在主人已經起床了。我好餓啊!嗚嗚
Ralph is very tired and sits down to rest for a while. He hears music coming from a house.
羅夫非常疲憊，便坐下來休息一會兒。這時，他聽見從一所房子里傳出音樂聲。
Ralph: Hey, whats that sound? Its music. Its coming from that house. Ill get closer and take a look.
羅夫：嘿，那是什么聲音?是音樂聲，從那間房子傳出來的。讓我走近瞧一瞧。
Ralph looks inside the house through an open window.
羅夫從一扇開啟的窗子往屋里瞧。
Ralph: There are lots of people inside. Any it is very noisy. They must be having a party. Oh, I see lots and lots of food inside, too. How can I get some food?
羅夫：里面有很多人，而且很吵。他們一定在舉辦晚會。哦，我看見里面有好多好多食物。可是我怎樣才能弄到一些食物呢?
Ralph tries to think of a way to get inside. Finally, he waits until no one is looking and quickly runs in. everyone is singing and dancing and having fun.
羅夫試著想個辦法進屋去。終于，他趁人不注意的時候跑了進去。每個人都在唱歌跳舞，非常開心。
Ralph: Look at all the happy people. Look at all the food. They are not even eating it. I hope I can just get a piece of meat. Someone please throw me some meat. Oh, please, please, please.
羅夫：瞧瞧這群快樂的人們。看看這些食物。他們竟然都沒吃。我只希望我能弄到一塊肉。拜托誰扔給我一塊肉。哦，拜托!拜托!拜托!
Ralph closes his eyes and prays. He is so hungry. He is about to faint.
羅夫閉上眼睛祈禱著。他太餓了，幾乎快暈倒了。
Man: Hey, look at that poor Dog over there.
人：嘿，瞧那只可憐的狗。
Man2: He looks tired and hungry.
人2：他看起來又累又餓的。
Man: Throw him something.
人：咱們丟些東西給他吃吧!
Man3: Youre right. What a poor Dog! Ill throw him this piece of meat. Here Doggie, have this. Its very good.
人：你說的對，可憐的小狗!讓我來把這塊肉丟給他。到這兒來，小狗，給你。很好吃哦!
Ralph smells the meat and opens his eyes. 羅夫聞到了肉的香味，他睜開了眼睛。
Ralph: Arf! Arf! Oh my goodness! Its a piece of meat. My prayers came true. I wonder who threw it to me. Thats not important right now. I better just take this and run.
羅夫：汪!汪!我的天啊!一塊肉!我的祈禱應驗了。也不知道是誰丟給我的，不過現在這個已經不重要了。我最好拿了肉趕快跑。
Ralph quickly takes the meat and runs out of the house.
羅夫叼著肉飛快地跑出房間。
Man: Look at that Dog run! He is really fast.
人：快看那只狗跑了!他跑得可真快啊。
Man2: I guess he was really hungry. Poor Dog.
人：我猜它是真的餓了。可憐的狗。
Ralph is very excited. He wants to take the meat to a safe place and eat it there all by himself. He looks for a good place to eat.
羅夫非常興奮。他想把肉叼到一個安全的地方獨自享用。于是他開始尋找一個用餐的好地方。
Ralph: Over there looks like a good place. I better cross that bridge first.
羅夫：那里看起來是個不錯的地方。不過我得先過橋。
Ralph is crossing the bridge. He looks down into the water.
羅夫一邊過橋一邊往水里看。
Ralph: Hey, whos that Dog down there? He has a bigger piece of meat. What shall I do? I know. Im a good swimmer. Ill jump into the water and take the meat away from him. Then I can eat two pieces of meat. Yahoo! Today is my lucky day. Arf, arf, arf!!!
羅夫：嘿，下面的那只狗是誰?他有一塊更大的肉啊!我該怎么辦?我知道了，我是個游泳高手。我要跳到水里，把它那塊肉搶過來。這樣我就有兩塊肉了。哈，今天是我的幸運日!汪!汪!
Ralph jumps into the water.
羅夫跳入水中。
Ralph: Where did that other Dog go? I cant find him anywhere.
羅夫：咦?那只狗呢?我怎么找不到他。
Ralph looks everywhere, but the other Dog is gone.
羅夫四處張望，可是剛才那只狗已經不見了。
Ralph: Oh, forget it. I better get out of the water. I might catch cold.
羅夫：哦，算了吧!我最好先上岸。要不然我會感冒的。
Ralph gets out of the water and quickly shakes his whole body.
羅夫上了岸，快速地甩掉身上的水。
Ralph: Thats strange. I wonder where the other Dog went? But wait! Where is my piece of meat? I had it when I jumped into the water. Now its gone. Oh no! Thats it! I dropped it when I went into the water. My meat is gone now. Boo-hoo-hoo!
羅夫：真奇怪!不知道那只狗跑到哪里去了?等等!我的肉呢?我跳水前還在啊!可是現在它不見了。哦，不!我知道了!我跳水的時候把它弄丟了。現在我的肉沒了。嗚嗚
As he is crying, Ralph sees another Dog crying in the water, too. This time Ralph sneezes and the other Dog sneezes, too.
正當他哭泣的時候，羅夫看到水中的另一只狗也在哭泣。羅夫打了個噴嚏，那只狗也打了一個噴嚏。
Ralph: Achoo! Hey look! He sneezes just like me. He also cries just like me. Who is he? Let me look closer.
羅夫：哈秋!嘿，看!他像我一樣打噴嚏。怎么他哭起來也像我。他是誰啊?讓我走近點兒看看。
Ralph looks closer into the water. He is surprised, because he sees himself in the water.
羅夫靠近水邊。令他驚訝的是，他在水里看到了他自己。
Ralph: This cant be. Its just me. Its just my reflection in the water. Then the other Dog was also just my own reflection? I cant believe it. I lost my piece of meat because of my reflection. Oh, how foolish I am!!! Today is my unlucky day! Im lost. And I am still hungry. What shall I do? Boo-hoo-hoo!
羅夫：不會吧!原來這就是我啊!這只不過是我在水中的倒影。那么剛才看到的那只狗也是我的倒影了?我真不敢相信，我弄丟了我的肉，就因為一個倒影。唉，我怎么這么傻啊!今天真倒霉。我還迷了路。現在我還是很餓。我該怎么辦?嗚嗚
MORAL： If you are too greedy, you may even lose what you have.
