2. 然而，我們要注意到在人類的文明進(jìn)程中，實(shí)用主義并不是唯一的主題。人類對(duì)于宗教，信仰，理想，藝術(shù)的追求同樣推動(dòng)了人類歷史的發(fā)展。比如華盛頓，甘地，馬丁路德金等人為自由而奮斗。
3. 必須承認(rèn)，一些看似沒有實(shí)用性的東西，如人類探索外太空，但是從長(zhǎng)遠(yuǎn)來看，這是對(duì)人類有巨大意義的。是我們制造有實(shí)用性東西的理論基礎(chǔ)，比如數(shù)學(xué)，比如物理，如果沒有這兩個(gè)理論的話，那么就不可能發(fā)明電腦。比如文學(xué)literature，繪畫，音樂它們雖然沒有什么實(shí)用價(jià)值，但是它們豐富了我們的生活。我們對(duì)太空的探索，對(duì)人類長(zhǎng)遠(yuǎn)發(fā)展來講都有好處。
