日前，銀監會發布數據稱，上半年我國銀行業不良貸款再次實現雙降。截至6月末我國全部商業銀行不良貸款余額為12827.2億元，不良貸款率下降為7.5%，抵御風險能力繼續增強。

不良貸款的常見表達有兩種：nonperforming loans或dead loans。
就語言色彩而言，nonperforming loans比dead loans更為形象、生動。
不良貸款指銀行在一定期限內不能按期收回的貸款，其原因往往是借款企業因經營不善而導致無力償還。言外之意，貸出的款項沒有起到應起的作用，錢沒能生出更多的錢，由此，nonperforming（未履行職責的，未完成任務的）恰到好處地道出了不良貸款的內涵。
另外，再提兩個有關貸款的表達：idle loans（呆帳），overdue loans（逾期貸款），mortgage loans（按揭貸款）。
