Zao Fu been learning to drive from Tai Dou for three years, but Tai Dou did not tell him anything about driving, which only added to his respect for his teacher.
One day, Tai Dou told Zao Fu, "Learning to drive must begin with learning to walk, as long as you can walk as fast as I do, you can succeed in driving a carriage pulled by six horses." Tai Dou erected1 a line of stumps2, and walked on them as flying, never falling down. In only three days, Zao Fu grasped this method, and soon afterwards mastered all the essential skills for driving.
造父跟泰豆學(xué)習(xí)駕車。三年間,泰豆從未告訴他一句有關(guān)駕車方法的話,但造父對(duì)師父卻更加恭敬。
一天,泰豆告訴造父:“學(xué)駕車必須先從走路學(xué)起,只要你走路趕得上我,就可以成功地駕馭六匹馬拉的車子。”泰豆豎起一排木樁,在上面快步如飛,卻從沒掉下來(lái)。三天功夫,造父就學(xué)會(huì)了這種方法,很快便掌握了駕車的全部要領(lǐng)。
