　　Ⅰ.surprise作名詞，意為“驚奇，詫異”。如：

　　① To my surprise,they lost! 使我驚奇的是他們輸了!

　　Ⅱ.surprise作及物動詞，意為“使人驚奇，使感到意外”。如：①You surprise me. 你真使我驚奇。

　　Ⅲ.surprising是現在分詞作形容詞用，意為“使驚奇的，出人意料的”，常指物。如：
