狀語從句知識點總結： unless與if…not…同與異

1. 當所述條件會結束已經存在的想法或狀態時，用或都可以。如：

We shall go unless it rains tomorrow. =We shall go if it doesnt rain tomorrow. 如果明天不下雨，我們就去。(下雨會結束去這一已經存在的趨向)

You will be late unless you start at once. =Youll be late if you dont start at once. 如果不馬上走你就要遲到。(馬上走會結束遲到這一趨向)

2. 當所述條件會導致一種新的想法或情況時，通常用if，而不用unless。如：

Ill be angry if Im not invited to the party. 如果不邀請我參加聚會我會生氣的。(不邀請就會導致生氣這種新情況)

3. 表示虛擬條件只能用ifnot，不用unless。如：

He would have died if the doctor had not saved him in time. 要是醫生不及時救了他，他早就死了。

4. 若需定再與否定連用，用unless，不用ifnot。如

譯：如果沒有別的人去，我就去。

正：I will go unless no one else does.

誤：I will go if no one else doesnt.
