Beyoncé's new music offers a rare insight (領(lǐng)悟) into the two sides of the pop star. "I Am… is about who I am underneath (在……下面) all the makeup, the lights and all the exciting drama," she explained during an interview.
In real life, Beyoncé has been working hard to prove herself. After a huge success with the girl group Destiny's Child, she had her first album Dangerously In Love that earned her five Grammy Awards in 2004. In a history-making moment, Beyoncé sang the song At Last to Barack Obama and his wife Michelle for their first dance after his inauguration (就職典禮) in January.
Beyoncé is not just a singer, she's also known for her acting. You may have seen her in the movie Dreamgirls.
The singer-turned-actress has her eye on the goal of winning an Oscar. She says the dream motivates (激發(fā)) her to stay in shape.
"I'm not one of those people who don't have to work at it," she says. "I can't eat what I want, and I have to go to the gym … There are no quick, easy secrets. The truth is, it's a lot of sacrifices (犧牲), like giving up ice cream."
