關于美國留學推薦信原則

【第1句】：關于申請美國大學的推薦信

我國學生提供的推薦信有很大的問題，有時候這些問題還很嚴重，我這里將提示大家，這些問題在什么地方需要克服——

國外政府或官方機構不具備人事檔案管理的職能，我國的國有機構都有人事處之類的機構，管理你的檔案，我國的私營企業的人也要到國家辦的人才交流中心交錢，國家來管理保持你的檔案;西方國家的政府沒有這方面的功能，任何一個個人他(她)所有的履歷、歷程，都是由幾個私人寫的推薦信來構成的;

因此，國外的人在寫推薦信的這個人知道自己在寫信時是把自己的名聲、信用抵押上去的;所以，國外人寫推薦信的文風跟我過同學自己寫的很不一樣;

很遺憾我國中學老師基本上沒有親自執筆寫推薦信的，都是學生自己寫，以老師的名義發出;我國的學生、家長以老師的名義寫的.推薦信有時過于吹噓，講很多不切實際的話，幾乎把自己包裝成一個“不需要學習的人”，效果是適得其反;

國外所有的履歷都需要私人寫推薦信，而個人的信用非常重要，所以國外人寫的推薦信比較低調，就事論事，自己知道什么就寫什么;國外的中學老師知道，學生要申請學校自己是要給他們寫評語、推薦信的，而我國的中學老師不認為自己有這方面的職責，但是同學自己寫，以老師的名義簽署，老師們一般都同意，現在網上申請，有的地方已經發展到，很多國內老師把自己郵箱的用戶名、密碼給申請學生，然后申請同學就用他們的郵箱發自己寫的申請信;我經歷過這樣的情況——

有的老師的推薦信，實際上是同學寫的，經過我修改英語本身沒有問題了;但是有的是學生自己寫，然后就發了，這樣的話國外錄取委員會就發現一個奇特的現象：來自這個學校的，比如說一個張老師，他的推薦信有時英文還可以，但是有的時候寫得一塌糊涂，還有時更糟糕的是，有50位同學以他的名義發出了推薦信，這50位同學都聲稱自己的成績名列班級前三名，結果這個張老師的信用蕩然無存;

這樣對申請者傷害非常大，中國有一部分老師覺得以這類方式“欺騙”一下老外，學生上了好大學，不算犯規;他們可能不會欺騙國內的大學、家長、教育部門官員，但是他們認為外國人遠在天邊，實際上這類方式多了以后，嚴重影響我國中學教育、我國學生的信譽，嚴重影響我國學生申請的結果;

【第2句】：寫推薦信的幾個原則

——真實、獨特的視角、有力的表達

那么，我們同學面對這樣的情況應該怎么辦呢?

作為一名中學學生，我們不是教育局我們無法要求老師們公證、客觀、誠實的寫推薦信，我們的老師也很繁忙，沒有經歷來應付國外考試的這些要求，這里我做一個私人的呼吁：

首先，如果是我們自己起草以老師名義的推薦信時要注意就事論事，不要過分吹噓，這個沒有用，國外的錄取委員會都不是傻的，他們很有判斷能力，我們很多同學總是低估國外教授的智商，這是錯誤的，他們對我們其實很了解;

其次，如果我們找的這個老師英文不高，，所以總是找一些名人、高官給這個孩子寫推薦信;但是國外對于推薦信是有審閱原則的;我們可以提供一份中文推薦信，然后再提供一個翻譯件，這樣顯得更真實一些;我國有些家長比較崇拜權利

國外對于推薦信有兩個審閱原則

第一個原則，推薦者必須有能力來判斷、衡量這個被推薦者;

第二個原則，推薦人必須有機會對被推薦人進行了解;這樣我們的很多名人、高管就不起到這個作用;

以國外一般要求你的任課老師和班主任提供推薦信，如果有額外的推薦信的話，我建議大家不要找高級官員，因為社會制度不一樣，教育體制不一樣，在國外的教育部門、高級官員對大學尚且沒有影響力，更不用說找一個中國的高級官員寫個推薦信，歷史經驗證明這些都沒有用，再加上國外找很多研究生參與錄取初選，這些年輕人都很有反叛精神，一看你有這樣的推薦信，經常會發生他就把你拒了;

我看過國外大學的評論，大學教授說，一個好幾千人的學校，這個同學既沒有參加過大型的政府活動，也沒有攀登過珠峰，他怎么會找這么大個名人寫推薦信呢?一定說明這個同學本人或者這位同學的家長很會鉆營，再往下推論，這個同學的本人的資格是有問題的;因此大家不用去做這些事，這是我在推薦信方面我給大家的建議。
